Williams was the show's first proper casualty, with five
others leaving injured this season so far.Britain's
most decorated Olympian Sir Bradley Wiggins was "gutted" after a leg
fracture forced him out of the winter sports TV show in February. The 36-year-old said he suffered a small fracture while
taking part in the show's snow cross training."Seen a specialist, I have a small leg fracture & need
to rest for 3/6 weeks. Good news no surgery or cast required," he said."No horror smash, small training injury which means I
can't compete. No terrible break, no cast, just need to rest it."
Parasport athlete Kadeena Cox had to abandon the competition
in week two, as the race triggered symptoms of her multiple sclerosis, while
Spencer Matthews and Caprice were also injured during week four.Even before this season started, former Big Brother star
Josie Gibson sprained her knee and banged her head during training.
In 2016, the Channel 4 show saw contestant Linford Christie,
55, unable to take part in an event due to pulling his hamstring, and another
four contestants pulling out due to several injuries.
This included gymnast Beth Tweedle, who had to undergo surgery
to fuse fractured vertebrae in her neck.
